Psalm 82

Join us as John Oostra teaches from Psalm 82.

Few things are more satisfying than justice.  When a magistrate carefully reviews the facts of a case and renders a fair verdict, there is a sense that what needed to be done has been done.  However, when judges are corrupt and turn a blind eye to the facts, accepting bribes and doing favours for friends, society groans.  In Psalm 82, the Judge of the Universe serves notice to human 'judges' that they must judge righteously, aware that they themselves will one day stand before His Majesty!  Do we in our capacities of rendering judgments on others realize we are not only in authority, but also under authority?  When last did we say a prayer for a judge?
