So you’re planning to come to Balmoral and you want to know what to expect. Here goes!
A couple of us will be there to greet you at the sanctuary doors and give you a bulletin with the morning’s agenda inside.
Our service begins at 10:30 am and the lights in the foyer will blink to alert us that the service is about to begin.
The service runs until approximately 12 noon.
Dress is casual.
There is a nursery available for children up to 3 years old. Our greeters will direct you to the nursery location if you wish to take advantage of this service. If not, the back rows are reserved for families with small children.
Sunday School programs are available for children 3 years old to Grade 5. The children will be dismissed from the service at about 10:45 am.
Communion takes place every Sunday at Balmoral. On the last Sunday of each month, (this has presently been suspended) we have a Breaking of Bread service, which includes communion, sharing and hymns, at 9:00 am. On this Sunday the usual 10:30 am service includes a missionary presentation but does not include communion.
Balmoral does not collect an offering during the service. If you become a regular attendee and wish to give, offering envelopes are available that can be deposited at the back of the Sanctuary.
We normally have a coffee and snack time after each service to allow time for fellowship with each other.
One Sunday per month, we gather for a potluck meal after the service. (We have presently suspended this gathering due to covid)
The sermons are 30 to 40 minutes long, delivered by Terry, (pastoral staff), the elders, and other men of the congregation. Sermons are typically in series walking through a book of the Bible and stay close to the passage.
