Today, we divert from our sermon series in Joshua to celebrate the Advent. Terry Wiebe will be teaching from Romans 8 titled, "A Carol for the Despairing". During a dark period in American history, one of their poets wrote what has become a beloved Carol - I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day. The lyrics of the Carol reveal a man in despair. And although his despair had its reasons, it doesn't get the last word. Seeing something, his poem takes a turn for the better and his despair is transformed into hope. Wonder what he saw?
