What is Reformed Theology?
Starting Sunday, October 16/11 at 7:00 pm
A Sunday Evening Video Series by R.C. Sproul
You've heard of Reformed theology but you're not certain what it is. Some references to it have been positive, some negative. It appears to be important and you'd like to know more about it. And you want a full explanation, not a simplistic one.
Few evangelical Christians today understand Reformed theology. Reformed theology reveals just how awesome the grace of God is.
We are excited to launch this twelve-part video series on October 16 at Balmoral Bible Chapel. Services will include corporate worship, teaching by R.C. Sproul, group discussions and genuine community. This series is open to anyone in Red Deer regardless of age or church involvement. |

We have chosen the Gospel of John to start off our Discipleship studies because of its rich teaching on the fundamentals of what it means to come to believe in Jesus Christ, its profound teaching on the Deity of Jesus Christ and its practical teaching on living as a disciple of Christ.
The Gospel of John has been called "the profoundest book in the world" and at the same time it is noted that it is "simple enough for a child to wade in but deep enough for the scholar and the most seasoned saint to swim in." (Warren W. Wiersbe in Be Alive). As we 'wade' and 'swim' through this Gospel together we will be asking the Holy Spirit to reveal to us what He wants us to see which will help us to grow in intimacy with Him, in our Christ like character and in service for Him and others. Part of discipleship is learning to live by God's values and to model Christ's example. We will be searching the Gospel of John together, on Sundays and in Sermon Based Life Groups, to discover those values and Christ's example in order to apply them and allow them to transform our lives.

Irbaan is a Masai village in rural remote Kenya. When A Better World found the school, the teacher was holding classes in a dilapidated metal shack with a dirt floor and no door or windows. Donors stepped up and 4 years later there are 3 classrooms, an office, washrooms and a teacher's residence onsite. Kitchen and pre-school buildings are under construction and nearing completion. During a visit to the site last year volunteers from A Better World noticed while the buildings and learning have been greatly improved, the living conditions for the students are still not great. During a brainstorming session the Irbaan Shoe Project was born. Local Red Deer artist Shauna Dunbar has generously volunteered to make copies of her painting "In My Shoes" available to A Better World for fund raising. The project selected for this year is the Irbaan School Shoe Project. Money raised will buy shoes for 179 school children who are doing extra school work or chores to earn their new shoes. Many of these children walk up to seven kilometres a day each way to attend school. New shoes will literally go a long way to help them with their education.
Prices are as follows: Cards $3.00 each or a package of 5 cards for $15, 12x18 paper prints are available for $50 each Canvas giclees can be ordered, non-stretched, shipping not included: 8x12=$80.00, 12x18=$120, 16x24=$160.00, 24x36=$240.00 To order please e-mail chuck@obdc.ca or
